I read a letter that a teenager wrote to her mom. It was so sad. All about how her grandma is whacked out on drugs and screaming for someone to give her a gun so she can just shoot herself. All in front of her granddaughter. Wow drugs suck.
This entire deal is over-rated by those stuck in it. We live in a completely different world from normal thought process and don’t even realize it. It’s all spiritual warfare. Ok, so you’re thinking what a kook. Am I? The Bible warns about spiritual warfare from the beginning to the end.
Eve and the snake were the beginning
Christ’s crucifixion the middle
The Great War and Jesus’ return
The end for some, the beginning for those who believe in Jesus
So here we sit, once we’ve accepted Jesus, He gives us all the tools we need to fight in this unseen – yet totally tangible war. Now whether we use the things He gives us or not is up to us.
Ephesians 6:10-20 shows us specific weapons for our use in the war on evil. It’s amazing how gracious the Lord is. You believe in good and bad, right and wrong, light and darkness, love and hate, pride and humility, mercy and revenge. You believe in unseen forces. Yet try to explain it away or become numb to them. What is so difficult in believing that unseen force of mercy is God and that the unseen force of revenge (evil) is Satan and his band of fallen angels (demons)?
Everything God asks of us is good. Love – faith – hope – mercy – joy – kindness. Don’t you think it’s worth believing?
I’m not saying it’s easy sometimes it’s a very real struggle and that is what war is about. Struggles are battles in one big war. Not so different from the war we see on TV. War is battles, once again, war is battle – struggles to overcome.
In the book of Daniel, there is a Scripture in which The Angel of the Lord announces that He had to fight His way to Daniel. But that his prayer was heard and answered on the first day, the remaining days were spent in battle. Then Michael the archangel came to help Him fight the king of Persia, (Satan). So Daniel could see and everyone else could see God’s glory. (Daniel Chapter 10)
So there was an unseen battle being fought for 21 days over Daniels request. Satan attacks us when we dedicate our life to the One True Living God. Be that through people, addictions, or self. If we understand and see clearly that it’s Satan not the person, then we put ourselves on the victor’s side of the battleground. Jesus won our war for us at the Cross.
Now if we see everything as spiritual warfare as it should be seen, it becomes very clear that Satan is attacking the young girl and grandma because the grandfather gave his heart and will to the Lord along with the young girls mother. So, Satan being the snake he is, starts attacking the weak. Looking for a way to steal their soul, kill their spirit, and destroy their hearts and minds. Compared to the price Satan wants us to pay, all of the struggles we will go through being a God fearing, mercy seeking, love-filled believer in Christ Jesus, is like taking a trip to Disney Land.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10
